Master of Science in Nursing: Direct Entry - Generalist Track (DEMSN)
Track Overview
The Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing (DEMSN) is a 12-month, full-time accelerated nursing program at UNLV, designed for career-changers and non-traditional students who hold a bachelor’s degree in another field and are ready to transition into nursing. Students complete graduate-level coursework and hands-on clinical training to become a registered nurse at the master’s level, graduating prepared to sit for the NCLEX. This second-degree nursing program combines rigorous academics with real-world clinical practice to launch a new career in nursing in just one year.
“As a second-career, non-traditional student, this program gave me a true second chance and a fast track into practice without cutting corners. In one of the quickest programs in the country, I gained the knowledge, clinical confidence, and mentorship that made me the nurse I am today. That foundation still supports me every day in the cardiovascular ICU, and it opened doors for graduate-level possibilities.”Joseph Cadiz, 2024
