USPS postal rate increases effective July 12

The United States Postal Service (USPS) will implement a rate increase effective July 12, 2026. The average cost to send First-Class Mail will increase by 4.8%. Below are some of the most common rate changes:

78 cents to 82 cents

  • Forever Stamp: $.82 (up from $.78)
  • Metered Letters (1 oz): $.78 (up from $.54)
  • Domestic Postcards: $.65 (up from $.54)
  • Large Envelopes (Flats, 1 oz): $1.63
  • Certified Mail Fee: $5.55

Commercial and Bulk Mail

  • First-Class Presort Letters: $.692
  • Marketing Mail Letters (Automation 5-Digit): Starting at approximately $.372
  • Nonprofit Marketing Mail Letters (Automation 5-Digit): $.178
