UNLV Podcast Explores the ‘Best’ AI Tools to Use

With fall classes underway and another record-breaking incoming class on campus, UNLV’s podcast The Real BS About AI with Bob Soulliere and Alethea Inns returns. Episode three explores the question on everyone’s mind: Which AI tool should I use and when?

Watch Episode 3: Choosing the “Best” AI Tool

In this episode, Inns shares the Four Cs (context, constraints, cognition, and controls), a simple framework for picking the right tool for the task, protecting data, and keeping the human voice intact. The pair also compare how they use ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and NotebookLM, reminding listeners that “there isn’t one ‘best’ AI, only the best fit for you and the job at hand.”

The episode also highlights new resources:

  • A biweekly AI learning series from the Teaching & Learning Commons and Online Education
  • A “Learning with AI” button in Canvas to give students direct access to resources.
  • Expanded campuswide options, including ChatGPT Enterprise and Gemini Pro integrations

The Real BS About AI releases new episodes every two weeks, spotlighting how AI intersects with teaching, research, and everyday life at UNLV. For more information, view the podcast announcement or visit UNLV’s AI website. If you have any questions, contact the IT Help Desk.
