Stay Secure While You Travel: International Loaner Laptops Now Available

The UNLV Division of Research, along with the Office of Information Technology, is excited to announce the launch of the Laptop Loaner Program for International Travel. Travel is often part of the job for faculty, researchers, and collaborators. Taking your laptop when you travel, however, significantly increases the possibility of data and identity theft. The Laptop Loaner program ensures that faculty and staff will have the applications and information they need while minimizing cybersecurity risks.

The university will have 12 laptops available to loan out to academic and administrative faculty traveling to a foreign country for purposes related to their employment or academic fulfillment with the university.

Pre-Installed Apps Include:

  • Google Workspace apps: Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides.
  • Meeting Tools: Google Meet and Zoom
  • Browser: Google Chrome
  • PDF Viewer: Adobe Acrobat PDF Viewer
  • Ad Blocker: Ad Blocker Plus.
  • VPN: FortiClient VPN

To submit a loaner laptop request please email Chelsea Holmes at chelsea.holmes@unlv.edu.
