Safety Training Available in CHIMERA

Risk Management & Safety (RMS) continues to offer safety training through CHIMERA Safety Training, the university’s safety training learning management system. Since the platform's launch in February 2026, we have more than 3,500 active CHIMERA Safety Training users, with more than 8,700 training certifications completed.

Whether you need to complete an online safety course or register for an upcoming in-person training session, CHIMERA is the place to access your safety training.

Explore Available Safety Training

CHIMERA provides a growing library of online safety trainings available to all UNLV employees and students, covering a variety of workplace and research safety topics. Online courses can be accessed through your CHIMERA account and completed at your convenience. Frequently used online courses, and some new online courses include:

  • Cart Safety

  • Bloodborne Pathogen Awareness

  • Shop Safety Basics for Researchers

  • Defensive Driving (initial 4-hour online)

  • Ergonomics Training and Workspace Self-Assessment (coming soon)

CHIMERA also includes live safety training sessions that participants can register for directly, including upcoming sessions for:

  • Chemical Hygiene and Laboratory Safety

  • Defensive Driving (initial 4-hour in-person)

  • AHA CPR/AED

  • And other safety trainings offered throughout the year

To see currently available live training sessions:

  1. Log in to CHIMERA Safety Training

  2. Go to the Learning Hub

  3. Select Live Sessions tab to view upcoming courses and available dates
