Staff and students who participate in laboratory or makerspace activities must be made aware of the hazards presented by chemicals in use in their respective spaces. Training must be completed prior to any work performed.
The Risk Management & Safety In-Person Chemical Hygiene Awareness Training will include awareness of hazardous chemicals, physical and health hazards of chemicals in the lab and in makerspaces. Additionally, this training will advise of measures students and staff can take to protect themselves from these hazards. Lab personnel and users of makerspaces should also receive specific procedural training from their Principal Investigator or Makerspace Manager on the hazards in their work area upon initial assignment and prior to assignments involving new exposure situations. Regular refresher training is strongly recommended.
Our Friday sessions begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. Tardy arrivals beyond 10 minutes may be denied entry and will be required to reschedule.
