Join UNLV Libraries this month for a series of free, online, one-hour workshops designed to help you get the most out of REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture), a secure, web-based application for building and managing data collection instruments and research databases.
REDCap is primarily intended for use by research teams and is especially useful for collecting, managing, and organizing research data. These sessions will introduce key REDCap features and workflows, with practical guidance for researchers who are new to the platform or looking to expand their skills.
All sessions are open to UNLV faculty, staff, and students, particularly those interested in using REDCap for research data collection.
Workshop Schedule
- September 16 – Introduction to REDCap
Learn the basics of creating and managing REDCap projects, including user rights and roles, data validation, and building forms with the Online Designer. No prior REDCap experience required. - September 23 – Using Surveys in REDCap
Discover how to enable and customize surveys, distribute them via links or email, and manage responses. We’ll also cover conditional logic, automated invitations, and best practices for survey workflows. - September 30 – REDCap Open Q&A: Importing Existing Data, Reports, and More
Bring your questions! We’ll review common advanced features - like importing data, building reports, and setting up longitudinal projects - then open the floor for your specific topics.
All workshops will be on Zoom from Noon-1 p.m.
