We are looking for individuals ages 18 to 35 to participate in our research study, "The Relationship Between Allostatic Load and Cognitive Function in Young Adults." The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the wear and tear that stress puts on your body and cognitive function in young adults. This study will be conducted through the Cognitive Aging & Neuropsychological Equity (CANE) Lab within the Department of Brain Health.
Participation requires individuals to be between 18 and 35 years old, generally healthy, and willing to visit UNLV’s Maryland campus. Participation includes only one study visit where you would be expected to complete baseline health measurements, including height and weight, one 5-minute drug/alcohol history questionnaire, one 5-minute childhood experiences questionnaire, one 7-minute mental health questionnaire, one 15-minute cognitive questionnaire (yielding an overall cognition, executive function, and episodic memory score), and one blood draw (15 mL; 1 tablespoon/3 teaspoons). If you are female, you will be required to give a urine sample that will be tested for pregnancy using a pregnancy test stick. Participants will be compensated via an Amazon gift card.
