Open Enrollment for NSHE Voluntary Benefits

Open enrollment will take place May 1-31. During this period, eligible employees can change their health plan coverage, add or update dependents, and enroll in or modify voluntary benefits through the Public Employees’ Benefits Program (PEBP) and Workday.

Eligible employees can manage their NSHE Flexible Spending Accounts and MetLife Legal Plans through Workday. See details below.

Action Required

Starting May 1, a task will appear in your Workday My Tasks inbox. Please review your current elections and submit any changes by the deadline.

  • Deadline: June 1 at midnight
  • Effective Date: July 1

For detailed, step-by-step assistance, refer to the Workday Open Enrollment Process Guide.

Year-Round Benefit Changes

All other NSHE-offered voluntary benefits, including Voluntary Life, Cancer Care, and Short-Term Disability, remain available for changes throughout the year and may be required to submit an Evidence of Insurability application to NSHE’s insurance providers.

To update these elections at any time:

  1. Navigate to the Benefits and Pay Hub in Workday.
  2. Select Change Benefits.

For complete instructions, view the Voluntary Benefits job aid.

Important Note Regarding PEBP

Workday is utilized exclusively for NSHE-specific benefits. It will not process Public Employees' Benefits Program (PEBP) offerings, such as:

  • Health Insurance
  • Health Savings Accounts (HSAs)
  • PEBP’s suite of voluntary benefits

For information regarding PEBP enrollment, please visit the PEBP portal.
