Telephones are the first layer of emergency communication. While telephones are already available in many classrooms, there is an ongoing project to add or upgrade phones and mount them on walls for ease of access. The project will take place in phases.
Wall-Mounted Telephones Phase 1: Sept. 22 - Dec. 5
Phase 1 includes installing 27 phones in new locations and upgrading 64 existing phones for a total of 91 wall-mounted phones. Phase 1 will include the following buildings:
- Carol C. Harter Classroom Building Complex (CHB) buildings A, B, and C
- John S. Wright Hall (WRI)
- Shadow Lane Campus (SLC)
What to Expect
- Work will take place from 7 p.m. - 5 a.m.
- Construction activities will be coordinated with class schedules to minimize disruptions.
- Rooms will remain accessible during construction. Class relocations are not anticipated.
- Construction activity may also take place in public areas including corridors.
- Temporary signage may be posted in affected areas during installation.
- Building occupants will be notified at least three (3) days before construction begins in their building.
