As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance campus safety and emergency preparedness, UNLV is installing automatic door-locking systems in buildings across our campuses. The project is taking place in phases. Phase 1, which included installing approximately 200 automatic lock buttons near entry doors in select classrooms and labs, concluded in August 2025. The second and final phase is currently underway. It includes installing more than 200 additional automatic lock buttons near entry doors in select classrooms and class labs.

Please note that these buildings are not listed in the order in which construction will take place. Building occupants will be notified at least three (3) days before construction begins in their building.
What to Expect
- Construction will take place between 7 p.m. - 7 a.m. to minimize disruptions.
- Spaces will remain accessible during construction. Class relocations are not anticipated.
- Temporary signage may be posted in affected areas during installation.
- Brief access interruptions may occur during hardware upgrades and software updates.
