New UNLV/CSUN Preschool Director

Earlier this week, Chelsie Shurtleff took the helm as the director of the UNLV/CSUN Preschool at the Lynn Bennett Early Childhood Education Center. She is an experienced early childhood education professional and researcher with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education and a master's degree in special education. She is pursuing a doctoral degree in special education.

Her background includes coaching trainers and providing professional development to over 130 preschool teachers across the state for the University of Nevada, Reno Extension Office. She also spent nearly seven years as the center director of the University United Methodist Child Development Center, where she managed a $750k grant portfolio and directed comprehensive, inclusive educational programming.

She is excited to lead the preschool, which will open its expanded Marlow Campus this fall.
