Microsoft Publisher Support Ends Oct. 1: Convert Files Now

Microsoft will discontinue Microsoft Publisher October 1. Your access will change depending on which software that you use.

  • Microsoft 365 Subscription: Microsoft will remove Publisher from Microsoft 365 on Oct. 1, 2026, and customers will no longer be able to access Publisher.
  • Perpetual Desktop Licenses: If you have Office 2021 (or earlier) versions on a university-barcoded device, you may continue to use your installed version of Publisher. However, Publisher will no longer receive security updates or software updates.

For instructions on preserving your Publisher designs and alternatives to Publisher, view the Microsoft Publisher Retirement guide.
