Congratulations to Renee Parker for receiving the Administrative Faculty of the Month Award for June 2026. Renee serves as the Assistant Director of Housing Operations within Housing & Residential Life at UNLV. The nominators wrote:
“Renee inspires leadership and contributes to teamwork by creating structure, clarity, and shared ownership during times of change. A strong example of this was the June Pro Staff retreat. Renee created a survey to ask professional staff what trainings, updates, and activities they wanted included. It gave team members a voice in the retreat and helped us feel more included in the process. Even details such as activities and lunch options were approached thoughtfully. As a result, the retreat felt like a complete overhaul from previous years and was the strongest professional staff retreat I have experienced during my time in HRL. Renee also stepped into an important leadership gap after our director left for a new position. Typically, department goals and direction would be shared by the director. In this case, Renee helped provide that clarity by sharing intentional department goals for the upcoming year. During a moment when the department could have felt uncertain or scattered, Renee helped bring focus. It gave the team a stronger sense of direction and helped us better understand our priorities moving forward. What I appreciate about Renee’s leadership is that it does not feel performative. It feels steady, thoughtful, and grounded in care for the team.”
