Ever wonder how your body responds to different types of food?

Faculty in the Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition Sciences are conducting a research study to understand why individuals respond differently to high-fat and high-carbohydrate meals. Your participation can contribute to advancing personalized nutrition knowledge and promoting healthier lifestyles.

Please fill out the eligibility form to learn more about our study and determine your eligibility. 

Participation involves:

  • A total of six visits of four hours at UNLV main campus BHS 343 (30 hours in total)
  • Enjoying standard high-fat and high-carbohydrate meals
  • Answering questions about your lifestyle
  • Assessing blood sugar using Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM), lipid profile, blood pressure
  • Body composition assessment
  • Physical activity assessment using accelerometer
  • Fecal sample assessment
  • $25 compensation for your time

You may qualify to participate if you:

  •  are between 18 to 65 years of age
  • are in good general health
  • do not have any implantable metal (e.g., pacemaker)

Participation in this study will provide you with interesting information about your body composition, analysis of your dietary intake, physical activity assessment, gut microbiome analysis, blood sugar levels, and blood lipid profile.

All study activities will take place at the Health Sciences, Rod Lee Bigelow BHS building (Room 343) on the UNLV Maryland campus.
