For over 40 years, the University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) has been a cornerstone for international education, providing UNLV students with transformative study abroad experiences. Since 1996, USAC has extended this opportunity to faculty, enabling professors to share their expertise with students from across the United States in diverse global settings. Now, we are thrilled to announce the call for applications for the 2026 Visiting Professor (VP) Program, offering a unique chance to enrich your teaching portfolio and broaden your global perspective.

Program Highlights:

Building on the program's success, USAC has expanded its reach, offering 33 VP positions for Summer 2026. USAC has extended the application deadline to fill four VP spots. This is a chance to immerse yourself in a new culture while delivering high-quality academic content to motivated students.

Diverse Teaching Locations & Disciplines:

• Teach pre-selected courses across vibrant global locations: Lyon, Torino, and Verona.
• Disciplines include business, marketing, management, French literature and art.

Develop & Lead Innovative Courses:

• For the Summer 2026 term, we are currently looking for VPs to teach the following courses:
  • Lyon, France – Summer Session I (June) – French Art & Architecture I: Classical to Beaux Art, (ART, 300-level, 3 credits, taught in English) 
  • Lyon, France – Summer Session 2 (July) - Francophone Women Writers (FREN/WMST, 400-level, 3 credits, taught in French)
  • Torino, Italy – Summer Session 1 (June) - International Strategic Management (BUS/MGMT, 400-level, 3 credits taught in English)
  • Verona, Italy – Summer Session 2 (July) - Digital Marketing (BUS/MKTG, 300-level, 3 credits, taught in English)

• Financial Support: Selected VPs will receive a $6,000 stipend to support their teaching and related expenses. USAC will also provide international health insurance coverage through CISI.
• Recruitment Support: USAC will provide recruitment materials and workshops to assist VPs in attracting students. Active participation in student recruitment is essential, with a minimum enrollment of five students required for course confirmation.
• Application Deadline: June 25, 2025.
• Notification Date: June/Early July 2025.

Key Considerations for Applicants:

• Student Recruitment: Given the focus on rebuilding enrollments, demonstrating a strong commitment to and prior success in student recruitment is crucial.
• Department and Education Abroad Approval: Applicants must submit a “statement of approval” from their department head/chair and the education abroad office. The education abroad office will not sign the form without an approval signature from your department chair.
• Course Delivery: All courses will be taught in English unless otherwise specified.
