UNLV was one of nearly 600 colleges and universities represented in a letter sent Friday to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security expressing concern over President Donald Trump's immigration executive order signed a week ago, according to the American Council on Education.


There are a lot of people with questions about the president's travel restrictions, including students at UNLV.

UNLV President Len Jessup wrote to students and faculty over the weekend that rapid changes to immigration policy have created uncertainty but assured the campus they're following all developments very closely.

Susan Thompson (International Programs) was given the Ron Moffatt Award for Peace and Social Justice for her dedication to international education and the academic and cultural exchange of students and research by NAFSA: Association of International Educators, Region XII, at its annual conference in November.
Ryan Larsen (International Programs) was given the Outstanding Service in International Education Award for his dedication to study abroad by NAFSA: Association of International Educators at the Region XII annual conference in November.
