The UNLV World Music Chamber Ensemble, together with featured co-performing groups, invites the community to celebrate the Year of the Horse at the 2026 UNLV Lunar New Year Concert, taking place at 7:30 p.m. on March 17, 2026, in Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall. Now in its fourth year, this large-scale annual event has become a signature cultural celebration in Las Vegas, bringing together music, movement, and cross-cultural dialogue on one stage. Tickets are $18 and available here.
Founded and directed by Tianxi Wen, the UNLV World Music Chamber Ensemble is known for its innovative fusion of Western and non-Western instruments and its strong commitment to multicultural collaboration. The 2026 concert will feature a vibrant program highlighting Asian traditional instrumental and vocal music, dynamic kung fu performances, and the refined elegance of Chinese classical dance. Together, these artistic elements celebrate cultural coexistence, diversity, and meaningful exchange across traditions.
In previous years, the UNLV Lunar New Year Concert has received strong support from the Las Vegas community and the Consulate General of China, and was formally recognized with a proclamation from the Office of the Mayor of Las Vegas. Building on this legacy, the 2026 concert continues to serve as a bridge between the university and the broader community through inclusive, practice-based artistic programming.
The 2026 UNLV Lunar New Year Concert is proudly sponsored by the Sands Institute for Chinese Language and Culture at UNLV, the Cyrus Tang Foundation, as well as local businesses and community partners. Sponsorship opportunities remain available, and donations of any amount are welcome. Community support plays a vital role in sustaining and expanding this celebration in the years to come.
