Feel the power of John Williams in his stirring arrangement of The Star-Spangled Banner and the high-octane Of Grit and Glory, originally written for the 2023 college football playoff National Championship. Experience the early genius of George Gershwin in his tender Lullaby, and the brilliance of Lili Boulanger’s Hymn to the Sun, a brief yet breathtaking burst of orchestral color.
The evening culminates with Gustav Holst’s First Suite in E-flat, a true cornerstone of the wind band repertoire. From the majestic Chaconne to the playful Intermezzo and triumphant March, Holst’s masterpiece showcases the full artistry and dynamic range of the UNLV Wind Orchestra at its best.
