UNLV Film and the CFA Alumni Chapter, in cooperation with A24 Films, present a screening of Sing, Sing, a new feature film starring Colman Domingo that presents the dramatic story of incarcerated men restoring their lives through theatre at 7 p.m. on Oct. 18 in the FDH 109 Dolby-Atmos Theatre. The event is free and open to the public, but reservations are required. A Q&A follows with the film's real-life inspiration, playwright and director Brent Buell, author of Breakin' the Mummy's Code. A reception precedes the event at 6 p.m.
Story
Divine G (Domingo), imprisoned at Sing Sing for a crime he didn’t commit, finds purpose by acting in a theatre group with other incarcerated men. When a wary outsider joins the group, the men decide to stage their first original comedy, in this stirring true story of resilience, humanity, and the transformative power of art, starring an unforgettable ensemble cast of formerly incarcerated actors.
