Writer and director Jill Soloway will host the Believer Festival finale event with musical sidekick and sister Faith Soloway. Other artists include comedian Tig Notaro, social activist Janaya Khan, and Russian-American journalist and author Masha Gessen.
This year's Believer Festival theme is La Frontera (the frontier or border). This theme urges individuals to ask questions regarding physical borders, and more specifically challenge and inspire the Las Vegas community to reconsider people's fixed conceptions and rigid ideas. The Believer Festival's goal is to transcend place, gender, identity along with physical and imaginary borders all while creating everlasting human connections.
The festival brings together an eclectic mashup of established and emerging artists, comedians, authors, and the Las Vegas arts community. UPROAR will include a night of music, comedy, and revolution from the vanguard of intersectional power, 5050by2020.
Tickets are $15 for general admission; $10 for Nevada college students and youth 18 and under.
