Nevada Conservatory Theatre is proud to announce its 2026–27 Season! From ancient myth reimagined to beloved classics reborn, from sharp political satire to urgent contemporary voices, the upcoming season invites you to reckon with the forces that bind us, break us, and dare us to fight back.
“As we look to the next 25 years of NCT we are excited to amplify contemporary voices and retell cherished stories,” said executive director Kirsten Brandt. “This season is about people discovering their voices, embracing the importance of community, and forging a future for the benefit of everyone, no matter the cost.”
Each production asks us what we are willing to sacrifice and what we refuse to surrender. Through 50 sisters in open revolt against forced marriages; a corrupt town unraveling at the seams of its own absurdity; a man’s journey to discover that no life lived for others is ever wasted; a raw and searching examination of bodies, autonomy, and the violence we inherit, two unflinching glimpses into the futures we fear and long for, and a Manor full of suspects where comedy and consequence collide we gather to witness what happens when ordinary people refuse to accept the world as it is.
NCT's 2026-27 season is a call to question, to laugh, to grieve, and to imagine otherwise.

2026-27 Season
BIG LOVE
By Charles L. Mee
Directed by executive director Kirsten Brandt
Love is a mess. Matrimony is deadly. Fifty sisters flee to an Italian villa to avoid marrying their fifty cousins. In an irreverent and chaotic adaptation of Aeschylus' The Suppliant Women, Big Love tackles relationships with mayhem, rage, heartache, and bloodshed. A thunderous opening to the season.
THE INSPECTOR GENERAL
By Nikolai Gogol | Adapted by Michael Mark Chemers
Directed by SteBos
When the corrupt city council of a mid-sized American town mistakes a penniless drifter for a federal accountability agent, it's a slap-dash scramble to the bottom. Most famous and funniest of the satires of Nikolai Gogol, The Inspector General receives a modern makeover in this stylish, hilarious, and edgy adaptation. Political absurdity has never felt so close to home.
IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE: A LIVE RADIO PLAY
By Joe Landry
Directed by Guest Artist Benny Sato Ambush
Inspired by It's a Wonderful Life, this beloved American holiday classic comes to life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. An ensemble of actors playing dozens of roles and live foley sound effects recreate Bedford Falls and the redemptive story of George Bailey — reminding us that "no man is a failure who has friends."
HOW TO DEFEND YOURSELF
By Liliana Padilla
Directed by Sylvia Cervantes Blush
Seven college students gather for a DIY self-defense workshop after a sorority sister is attacked. They learn how to "not be a victim," how to use their bodies as weapons, and how to fend off attackers. The form of self-defense becomes a channel for their rage, trauma, confusion, anxiety, and desire. Challenged to determine what they want and how to ask for it, the students must ultimately face the insidious ways rape culture steals one's body and sense of belonging. Bold, necessary, and urgent.
A PAIR OF SHORTS: THE FUTURE
Short Play Festival | Made possible by the David and Stephanie Vondrak Short Play Festival Fund
The short play festival is back and the theme is "The Future." This season, join us for two one-acts that explore our hopes and fears for what the future will bring. An evening of risk, discovery, possibility and optimism.
CLUE
Based on the screenplay by Jonathan Lynn | Written by Sandy Rustin
Additional material by Hunter Foster and Eric Price
Based on the Paramount Pictures and Hasbro Board Game CLUE!
Directed by Guest Artist Alan Muraoka
Was it a rope or a lead pipe? Was it in the Conservatory or the Billiard Room? The classic whodunit comes to the NCT. Join the iconic characters Scarlet, White, Green, Peacock, and Mustard as they race to find the murderer in Boddy Manor. Based on the cult classic film and the popular board game, Clue is a madcap comedy that will keep you guessing until the final twist.
