WHAT: Leading scholars and practitioners in the fields of dispute resolution, environmental law, land use and water law will examine whether collaborative approaches or litigation are the best approaches to resolving legal disputes over Colorado River resources.

Hosted by the Saltman Center for Conflict Resolution at the UNLV Boyd School of Law, the "Collaboration and the Colorado River" conference will feature presentations on the following topics: collaborative solutions to Colorado River water shortages; transnational collaboration with Mexico regarding the Colorado River delta; collaborative management of the Glen Canyon Dam; the ecosystem restoration perspective on collaboration; and the link between litigated solutions and regional collaboration.

NOTE: Pat Mulroy, general manager of the Southern Nevada Water Authority, will deliver the keynote speech during the conference luncheon from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Other presenters and commentators include Robert Glennon, Morris K. Udall, professor of law and public policy at the University of Arizona; Joseph Feller, professor in the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University; Douglas Grant, Cord Foundation professor of law at UNLV's Boyd School of Law; and Jennifer Pitt of the Environmental Defense Fund.
