University police and Nevada Donor Network hosted “Dogs, Donuts and Donate Life,” using K9 meet-and-greets and free donuts to get students and staff to stop by, learn about donation, and sign up on the spot.

UNLV and Fort Lewis College have established a partnership aimed at expanding graduate access for undergraduate students. Under the partnership, students earning a bachelor’s degree from Fort Lewis, a small public university in Durango, Colo., will get access to coordinated mentorship and early research opportunities to continue their studies at UNLV, either with a master’s degree in gaming and hospitality or a doctorate in a science, technology or engineering field.

After the state of Nevada suffered a massive cyber attack that caused major issues across a number of government agencies, UNLV has now set its sights on training students to monitor future potential threats. Last month, the university established the NIC. The goal is training the next generation of IT professionals. It also acts as a hub to serve state industries and government offices, helping them secure their data.
