A new study finds evidence of a troubling connection between sports gambling and risky alcohol consumption. The findings, published in JAMA Network Open, suggest that individuals who bet on sports, esports, and daily fantasy sports are significantly more likely to engage in binge drinking compared to those who do not gamble or who gamble on other activities.

UNLV united the Las Vegas community for a weekend of family fun. The university kicked off a variety of events on Saturday to give back to those in need and celebrate its many students. Staff and student-athletes joined forces for the Build a Bed Project. The partnership with "Sleep in Heavenly Peace" helped provide beds for over 4,000 underprivileged kids in Clark County and enforced their motto of "No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in our Town."

All 12 Women's National Basketball Association teams have a team of trained orthopedic surgeons and physicians providing care for them.
Nearly 100 middle school girls were introduced to flag football on Friday at the UNLV Peter Johann Memorial Soccer Field through the RUSH program. RUSH stands for Raiders, UNLV, Sport and Health. The Las Vegas Raiders funds the program, while professors with the UNLV School of Public Health teach the pre-teens how sports can have a positive impact on their lives.
Combining the education of children with that of future professionals is the perfect combination for the practice of UNLV philosophy students who have a joint preschool program on campus where they encourage children under 5 years old to do or think about big questions and interact with the world around them daily.
