Won-Yong Oh (Management and Entrepreneurship) and his co-authors' paper, "The Power of State Capitalism: Political Regime Shifts and Divergent Outcomes in SOE Performance," was published in the Journal of Management Studies, one of the Financial Times 50 (FT50) journals, a globally recognized list of the world's leading business journals used to evaluate research excellence.
The authors contributed equally to this research. The study examines how shifts in political ideology shape the performance of state-owned enterprises (SOEs), finding that interventionist governments can enhance firms' scale-related performance without necessarily improving profitability. The findings advance understanding of state capitalism by highlighting how political ideology shapes the outcomes of government involvement in SOEs.
