Notable: Valerie Barboa

Valerie Barboa (Nursing) successfully defended her doctor of nursing practice project to earn the title of doctor. Her project, "Transition for Success: A Pilot Program For The New Graduate Nurses In The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit," studied the high risks/lack of adequate training new graduate nurses in the ICU face and the high turnover that follows. She designed a simulation for a new program to help better train new graduate nurses in the ICU and increase their skill sets. She spent more than a year on her project, working closely with professor Lori Candela.
