Tooba Laaeq, Roberto Sagaribay, Vidhani Goel, Aditi Singh, and Kavita Batra (all Medicine), along with collaborators from Dow University of Health Sciences, Pakistan, and Mass General Brigham, Boston have published a study titled “Efficacy and Safety of Sodium-Glucose Cotransporter-2 Inhibitors in Patients With Refractory Cirrhotic Ascites and Diabetes” in JMIR Research. This scoping review aimed to examine the extent and nature of existing evidence regarding the effect of adding SGLT2 inhibitors on refractory ascites in patients with diabetes mellitus or insulin resistance. Dr. Laaeq is a resident physician in the Department of Internal Medicine.
