The UNLV School of Dental Medicine selected Dr. Tanya Al-Talib as the new director of its Orthodontic Residency Program. Al-Talib earned her doctorate of dental surgery and completed an AEGD residency at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry, and began her career in clinical practice before joining UNLV as a faculty member. She later pursued advanced training in orthodontics at UNC Chapel Hill, earning her certificate and master’s degree, and returned to UNLV to continue her work in education and mentorship. She has more than 17 years at the institution, has a passion for mentoring students and residents, and is an expert in managing sleep breathing disorders, holding a prestigious Diplomate status from the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. As a diplomate, she offers great care and dental management options for snoring and obstructive sleep apnea, including Oral Appliance Therapy.
