Presentation: Shawn Gerstenberger and Daniel Bubb

Shawn Gerstenberger (Community Health Sciences) and Daniel Bubb (Academic Assessment) participated in the first Masters of Public Health Quality Assessment Summit hosted by UNLV's School of Community Health Sciences. Faculty, graduate students, alumni, community members, and employers gathered to attend the half-day event on March 7, engaging in energetic discussion about ways to improve assessing graduate student learning, and linking those improvements to preparation for employment. The event initiated a conversation about bridging the wide gap between university and employer perceptions of student preparation for working in the community health industry. Gerstenberger facilitated the well-attended event, while Bubb gave the keynote address. Henderson Councilwoman Debra March delivered a luncheon speech about Southern Nevada Strong. The event concluded with a walking tour of the campus.
