Dr. Sehoon Park, Dr. Alfonso Ayala, Dr. Christopher J Fang, Dr. Aaron Gray, Dr. Daniel Kokmeyer (Orthopedic Surgery), Dr. Ashley Pistorio (Plastic Surgery), and Dr. Allison McNickle (Trauma Surgery) published an article entitled "Upper Extremity Injury Patterns Unique to Utility Terrain Off-Road Vehicles" in the Journal of Hand Surgery and Rehabilitation. This study compared arm injuries between utility-terrain vehicles (UTVs) and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs). UTVs were found to have more single extremity crush injuries during rollovers, leading to dysvascular limbs, amputations and increased hospital charges.
