Sarah Kazemeini, Kendra N. Coleman, Marianne Estrada, and Kavita Batra (all Medicine) have published their work titled “Institutional Efforts to Support First-Generation, Low-Income (FGLI) Medical Students in the United States” in the Journal of Medicine, Surgery, and Public Health. This work systematically maps existing evidence on institutional strategies to support FGLI medical students and aims to inform institutional practices, guide future research, and advance more intentional and equitable approaches for supporting this population. Kazemeini, Coleman, and Estrada, who are medical students, are working with Dr. Batra on multiple research projects.
