Marie-Odile Fortier and graduate student Santiago Cisneros Castillo (both Civil and Environmental Engineering and Construction) presented at the International Symposium on Sustainable Systems and Technology (ISSST) 2023 conference in Fort Collins, Colorado. Fortier gave a pre-conference workshop on "Parametric life cycle assessment (LCA) using Python codes" and an oral presentation titled "Inclusive practices for retention of neurodivergent students in research groups and higher education in sustainability." Cisneros Castillo presented a poster of his research titled, "Contributions of direct land use change impacts to the carbon footprint of existing concentrated solar power facilities in the United States," coauthored with Fortier. Fortier was a co-author on four additional presentations at the conference and served as the chair of the ISSST Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee in the year leading up to the event.
