Marian Alper (Foundation) was the lead creator of the “Our Donors are our Superheroes!” stewardship / donor relations multi-media campaign, which received a 2017 Silver Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District VII Western Conference board of directors. The annual awards program showcases best practices in donor relations, alumni relations, fundraising, public relations, special events and communications. The CASE VII Western Conference includes Nevada, California, Arizona, Hawaii, Utah, and Guam
The “Superheroes” campaign included a video featuring vignettes of actual UNLV donors dressed as superheroes in capes and masks. The theme was reinforced through a postcard campaign in which graduating seniors sent personalized “Our Donors are our Superheroes!” messages to more than 700 UNLV supporters.
Alper worked in collaboration with colleagues on the Foundation's donor relations and communications team, including Jorge Labrador, Delia Llanas, and Anjanette Arnold as well as with “extras” from the Division of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement staff. CJ Boisvert of Alleyzoom Productions provided creative consultation and videography services.
