Dr. Marc J. Kahn (Medicine) published a paper with his colleagues titled, "The Tulane accelerated physician training program: a novel combination of scholarship and service," in the journal Medical Teacher.  The paper describes a novel program designed to allow talented undergraduates to complete a BS and an MD degree in six years.  The program is unique in also requiring a year of public service with AmeriCORPS VISTA.  Kahn and his colleagues in the UNLV Honors College and the colleges of Fine Arts, Sciences, and Liberal Arts are looking for ways to start similar creative programs for the UNLV community.
