The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at UNLV’s Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine has received a five-year, $2.225 million award from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to continue and enhance the Nevada Pediatric Access Line (NV PAL). NV PAL helps primary care clinicians across Nevada address children’s and adolescents’ mental health needs through consultation with child psychiatrists, clinician education, and assistance connecting families with care. The 2026–2031 award will sustain these services and support a new secure online consultation system, allowing primary care clinicians to submit questions and receive specialist guidance without scheduling a live call.
