Kayla Sullivan (Nursing), Angela Silvestri-Elmore (Nursing), and Matthew Nishimoto (Disability Resource Center) presented their work, Accessible Futures: Immersive Assessment of Barriers for Nursing Students with Physical Disabilities, at the Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD) annual conference in Providence, Rhode Island, on July 22, 2026. Their presentation examined the use of immersive assessment to identify and better understand the barriers experienced by nursing students with physical disabilities, offering innovative strategies to promote accessibility, equity, and inclusive clinical learning environments in nursing education.
