Kavita Batra (Medicine), Jagdish Khubchandani, and Refat R. Serajon (Public Health) co-authored an article, “COVID-19 Vaccination Refusal Among Cancer Survivors in the United States: A Scoping Review,” published in COVID. The review found that reported COVID-19 vaccination refusal among U.S. cancer survivors varied widely (7.3%–39.0%), largely due to differences in how refusal was measured. Key barriers included concerns about vaccine safety and efficacy, interactions with cancer treatment, and mistrust, while clinician recommendation was the most consistent enabler.
