Kavita Batra (Medicine), along with collaborators from Italy, Germany, and Azerbaijan, published a study in the Iranian Rehabilitation Journal titled, "Consequences and Coping Strategies Among Students and Workers Experiencing Stalking."
The study found that workers reported more mediated and interactive contact, harassment, and physical violence, while students experienced more severe physical and emotional symptoms, including panic attacks, suicidal thoughts, and self-injury. Interactive contact was linked to both physical and emotional symptoms in students, but only emotional symptoms in workers. Students were also more likely to cope by increasing social contact.
