The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of Trustees appointed Chief Compliance Officer Joseph Sunbury (Business Affairs) to serve on its Audit Advisory Committee. The appointment was approved by the Board following interviews and consideration of applicants during its Oct. 29 board meeting. Sunbury's term began October 30 and will continue through June 30, 2027.

The Audit Advisory Committee consists of five independent community members possessing financial expertise, and was formed to advise the Board in the following areas:

• Strengthening accountability for the stewardship and efficient use of public funds
• Providing a communication link between the external and internal auditors and the Board
• Enhancing transparency of the District’s financial operations
• Improving public trust in the honesty and integrity of its public officials
