John “Skip” Crooker and Qingmin Shi (both Decision Support), recently presented with Celeste Calkins from Illinois State University at the Annual Meeting of the Association for Institutional Research (AIR) Forum in Washington, D.C. Their session, titled "Leniency and reliability - Faculty grading behaviors in the pandemic era," examines how faculty grading behaviors shifted during the pandemic and the extent to which grading leniency may have affected reliability. The presentation highlights implications for interpreting grades, understanding instructional practice, and evaluating academic outcomes during periods of disruption.
