Kuhls (Medicine), Szu-Ping Lee (Integrated Health Sciences), presented a poster titled, "Adaptive Driving Assessments and Return to Independent Driving Among Veterans and Civilian Populations with Limb Loss: A Scoping Review" at the 2026 UNLV Interdisciplinary Research Symposium on Jan. 28, 2026. 

The poster examined how adaptive driving assessments support the return to independent driving among veteran and civilian populations with limb loss. Through a scoping review, the team mapped existing evidence on assessment practices, timing of return to driving, safety, functional outcomes, and barriers to independence following amputation. This work clarified gaps in the literature and may inform future rehabilitation, transportation, and policy efforts to improve mobility and quality of life for individuals with limb loss.
