“Cognitive Labour in Wellness Tourism: Leadership Challenges for Spa and Wellness Directors” was recently published in the International Journal of Spa and Wellness. The article, coauthored with Hyelin Kim, Sherrie Tennessee, Marta Soligo, and Sung-Eun Kim (all Hospitality),  examines how cognitive labour shapes leadership practices within wellness tourism, focusing on the mental and emotional demands faced by spa and wellness managers. The research explores how these leaders manage decision-making, service personalisation, and well-being amid increasing operational complexity. 

Sherrie Tennessee and Sung-Eun Kim are both Ph.D. alumni of the Harrah College of Hospitality.
