Gregory Brown, Kavita Batra, Emily Dorin, Andrew Han, Arianna Palermini, Robert Sottile, and Sherine Khanbijian (all Medicine) published a study, “Six-Month Follow-Up Comparing AIT and EFT in the Reduction of Negative Emotions Associated with a Past Memory,” in Psychology. This study compared the long-term efficacy of Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT) and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) in reducing emotional distress tied to a single memory. At six months, no significant differences were found in Subjective Units of Distress (SUD) scores between the groups suggesting both therapies are equally effective in sustaining emotional relief over time. The team is currently recruiting for a randomized trial. For more information or to participate, visit: Study Signup Link. Dorin, Han, Palermini, Sottile, and Khanbijian are psychiatry residents.
