Gerilyn Slicker, Joseph Morgan, and Sharolyn Pollard-Durodola (all Early Childhood, Multilingual, and Special Education Department) were awarded a research practice partnership grant ($400,000) from the Spencer Foundation, titled Meeting Diverse Child and Family Needs through Innovative Early Childhood Educational Services: A Research-Practice Partnership to Support Equitable Access to Early Education in Las Vegas. They will partner with the City of Las Vegas to explore how the City’s provision of free pre-Kindergarten strategically placed in communities with longstanding limited early education access shapes enrollment patterns, with a specific lens on meeting the needs of the city’s diverse residents.
