Dave Beisecker (Philosophy) just returned from the Czech Republic, where he presented "The Default to Truth: On the Topology of Assertion" at a workshop on Why and How we Give and Ask for Reasons sponsored by the European Research Council and the University of Hradec Králové. A week before that, he commented on a paper on the normativity of logic at the annual meeting of the Southwestern Philosophical Association.
