Notable: Danny Young
Danny Young (Physical Therapy) presented the successes of his Center on Health Services Training and Research (CoHSTAR) fellowship to the organization’s executive and advisory boards; he was the only faculty fellow selected to provide this report. Young also presented the study he co-authored, “Does Patient Mobility Predict Value-Based Outcomes in the Hospital Setting?,” during the CoHSTAR Summer Institute.
CoHSTAR is a first-of-its-kind center of excellence designed for training physical therapists to conduct health services research, which is needed to inform health policy and improve patients’ quality of care. The center builds upon the well established, interdisciplinary, intellectually rigorous, and nationally renowned health services research and training infrastructure available at its trio of collaborating institutions — Boston University, Brown University, and University of Pittsburg. Young will complete the fellowship at the end of December.
