Danny Young (Physical Therapy) co-authored “Routine Inpatient Mobility Assessment and Hospital Discharge Planning,” which appeared online earlier this month in JAMA Internal Medicine. The authors found that patient mobility at hospital admission and change in mobility are associated with discharge to a post-acute facility. Their findings may help optimize discharge planning and encourage systematic mobility measurement.
