Brittany Paloma Fiedler and Brittani Sterling (both Libraries) and James Cheng, with the Library of Congress, presented "Moving Beyond Recruitment and Hiring: How to Retain Academic Librarians of Color" to over 250 attendees at the 2023 Conference on Academic Library Management. This research was funded by an American Library Association Diversity Research Grant. The presentation shared the findings of a qualitative analysis of 25 interviews of academic librarians of color, focusing on what kind of work contributed to job satisfaction, how colleagues supported their careers, what obstacles stood in their way, and what managers need to do to improve retention.
