Alanna Bitzel (Writing Center) co-authored "Writing in Practice: Demystifying Publication for Advising Authors" with two advising colleagues, Sara Bechtel and Melissa Cumbia, both of Virginia Tech. The article was recently published, appearing in the June 2026 edition of Academic Advising Today (AAT), the quarterly electronic publication (e-zine) of NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising. AAT provides a venue for the sharing of advising experiences and discussion of ideas related to the theory and practice of academic advising in higher education.
